This Ouchard model from Archet (stamped “ARC.JP”) is a well-balanced bow that offers good tone clarity in both piano and forte playing. The stick is free from the instabilities that sometimes present in bows at this price point, and carries itself smoothly from frog to tip. With on-the-string and bouncing bow strokes all able to be achieved comfortably, this is a suitable bow for players progressing through the higher AMEB Grades (approximately Gr. 6 – AMusA), or an equivalent level.
At Simply for Strings, each bow is hand-selected to exacting criteria, including examining the hair, camber of the bow and the bow’s ability and sound across different techniques.
Please note, each bow is unique and handcrafted – your new bow may look slightly different to the photograph used.
