The Rousseau New Classic (NC) Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece was created as an accompaniment to the original Rousseau “R” Series, but quickly gained popularity as the top choice among Rousseau models. Unhappy with the lack of suitable saxophone mouthpieces available for his classical students, Dr. Rousseau took it upon himself to design his own. Based on a mouthpiece gifted to him by Marcel Mule in 1961, the R Series Saxophone mouthpieces underwent further refinements and are now known as the NC Series. With a variety of new facings to cater to the needs of elite performers, this model boasts a rollover baffle for enhanced projection, a chamber with a gentle dip for a warm sound, redesigned sidewalls for a consistent tone, and a symmetrical tip rail for quick response at all levels of volume. Its elongated shape also ensures a secure fit and easier tuning.
