Description

Breathing life back into old fiddles is one of my favorite parts of this job. With a back length of exactly 356mm, the corresponding proportions and scale are simply textbook.

This time weathered violin boasts an impressive natural patina and a glowing aesthetic, fitting for its approximated 200 years of age; first quarter of the 19th century, clearly Bohemian work with a few flairs that intone a connection to Fussen.

Restored, fully updated, and tonally adjusted, complete with an extra lightweight carved out ebony tailpiece, titanium tailgut, titanium hill-style tuner, a new nut and freshly dressed fingerboard, a lightweight ebony chinrest, a new set of high quality ebony pegs, a bridge tuned to the plates, a new soundpost, and finished with a new set of Evah Pirazzi strings.

The violin boasts a voice which is at once both open and powerful, with remarkable clarity, a mature character, and clear ringing overtones which richly color the sound. Well balanced across the registers, without any wolf tones, nor weak notes. I would highly recommend this instrument without any reservations to any professional looking for an extra edge.
